These sunglasses are wonderful! They fit very well but are so very lightweight and have great polarization, so very important on the water!I recently heard about sunglasses that float, but didn't want to pay a hefty price tag to try them. Found these, under $20, and figured I'd give them a try. I dropped them in the pool to check them out and they do actually float! They are extremely lightweight plastic, and this may give the perception to some that they are not high quality. Far as I can tell, the polarized lenses work, and I don't see any distortion. They are perfect for water sports, where I tend to lose sunglasses anyways.I didn't buy these for fishing or for wearing at a lake or other body of water. I bought these for my father who has some vision problems and is bothered by bright light and glares. He actually wears these in the house on bright sunny days, and of course can take the glasses with him when he leaves for his appointments or such. From what he says these are exactly what he was wanting. Wrap around sunglasses that protect his eyes from the bright lights, and being polarized means that they protect from the glares caused by passing or parked vehicles on sunny days. He's quite pleased with them so far.I'd give this a 5 star review, but I bought these as Winter approached and we haven't had a lot of sunny days to test them (and no snow to reflect light, just a lot of very cold overcast days; par the course for my area). Two stars because I purchased the tortoise styled version which looks NOTHING like the one in the picture. It's basically clear plastic frames that were tinted very dark brown and there was some very weak attempt to give JUST the handles a hint of a tortoise effect. ONLY when you hold it up to a VERY bright light it has a faint hint of a tortoise pattern in it. It also feels VERY VERY flimsy like you are guaranteed to break them by just opening the arms to place them on your face. Not even a pair of cheap disposable passive 3D glasses feels as cheap and flimsy as these.(maybe the old paper based ones?) It feels especially weak at the nose bridge and it flexes so much at that point if you're not careful you would probably break them in two the very first time you try them on.It's funny though because that same flimsiness, coupled with the fact that they did take the time to install soft rubber pads on BOTH sides of the earpieces, means it isn't ever harsh against your head or the back of your ears. It almost feels like you're wearing nothing in terms of weight and comfort but you never feel like you are wearing a high quality pair of sunglasses. Next I tossed them into the hot tub to see what would happen and not only did they float but it seems that the lenses have some sort of hydrophobic coating on them or maybe that's just because they are new but they rejected water quite well. To avoid water spots you would still have to manually remove smaller droplets that remain on the lenses. Maybe they will grow on me after I use them on the water.Excellent!! I own several pairs of the black ones with the solid sides. Bought one pair for my boat, but was so impressed I bought more and use them everyday. Frames are incredibly light and strong, and YES they float! I clean the lenses with whatever I have around (usually my dirty shirt) and I have not scratched the lenses in the least. The polarization is excellent as well. I am hard on things and not much holds up to my lifestyle but these are the best sunglasses I have ever owned! WAY BETTER than ones 3-4 times more expensive. Do yourself a favor and buy two pairs of these!I gave these 5 stars because they are a good deal for the price. The glasses themselves don't repel water, so it can make it a bit difficult to see when we are out on our jet skis and getting splashed, but that is probably typical of any type of water glasses unless you get ones that are specially coated with a water repellent, which I wasn't really thinking about when I bought these; so for the price, I think these are great glasses and they float really well. We may put some water repellant on them ourselves, which will probably work fine - I'm not sure I would spend more money to get specially treated ones if that works and these are great otherwise. After losing 5 or more pairs of sunglasses in the river while boating, I found these for my teenage son. He LOVES them! If they fall off while he's horsing around in the water they do not sink to never be found again. They float! He likes the fit, the look and style, and the fact that they are also good for his water play and fishing. Just bought his second pair. (Unfortunately, they cannot withstand the stomping feet of a 180# teen).I got these after years of having a few pairs of Body Glove floating tinted safety glasses. But they were tight, the foam (that makes them float)on the temples comes off, and they always break at the nose bridge.I tested them in the sink as soon as I opened the package and they definitely float, very well. I wore them all weekend and they are very comfortable and clear vision-wise. I would recommend these to anyone looking for floating sunglasses.
